It's inspiring to have been a vendor at Steel City Con when it was still mainly a collectible toy show. This weekend marks its first serious foray into legitimizing itself as a comic convention, with A-list celebrity guests galore, panels, artist alley, and a costume contest.
This big step up has inspired me to kick off the dirt, dust off the business cards, and come out of retirement (it's been almost three years since my last show!). And not just that, it's inspired me to give the Red Tie Products website a total overhaul (www.redtieproducts.net - seriously, go check it out! I'm super proud of it!), making it sleek and sexy and just overall wonderful to look at and easy to navigate.
So now I must get ready to set up for the show, then head into work, then head back to the show, then pass out for a few hours just to get up early Saturday morning and do it all over again. +Daniel Peckham, a talented illustrator, retail and film colleague, and comic afficianado will be graciously assisting at our booth this weekend, as will +Marie Nandzik (who will also have her stock of jewelry on display - and just in time for last minute Christmas gifts!).
The three of us are all really looking forward to getting back into the comic con groove again, especially seeing some familiar faces and becoming acquainted with new ones!
